The association CErchio delle Abilità was born by the will of some parents to adopt

"CONDUCTIVE EDUCATION"

to provide concrete support for their children with motor disabilities.

Conductive Education is a rehabilitation method developed in Hungary by Professor Andras Petö, which is known and practised all over the world. It is an educational approach aimed at children and adults with motor disorders and provides concrete help in managing everyday life. Using simple strategies the individual is taught how to achieve what he or she wants, and motivated through group work. Movement, sensory and cognitive skills are stimulated simultaneously through active participation, motivation and independence.

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

The activity is aimed at children with motor disabilities (tetraparesis or spastic paresis, diatonic paresis...) resulting from brain damage.Conductive Pedagogy is a process that is based on the intuition that children with motor disabilities follow a similar development and learning process to normal children. It theorises that children with disabilities need to be given proper direction and guidance, aimed at everyday practice. The child is thus accompanied (led) in the performance of those daily activities and experiences common to all children. In conductive pedagogy, the need to treat the child as a whole and in relation to his or her life context is not the consequence or the end point, but rather the starting point: the patient becomes the first actor in his or her recovery.

Conductive Education as therapy:

The simultaneous management and stimulation of movement, language and mental abilities (such as concentration, memory, etc., without neglecting sphincter control education), all carried out in permanent contact and confrontation with other participants (group activities), is a source of positive generation of emotions and motivation in the participants.

Conductive Education as support for the family:

the conductive pedagogy represents for parents a concrete support and reference in the educational process and in the daily management of their son/daughter with motor disabilities. education is aimed at learning the functional activities of daily life (washing, dressing, eating etc.), and gives great significance to the human and relational dimension because it encourages different interpersonal relationships:

  • within a peer group
  • with brothers and sisters and comrades
  • with adults
